    stop playing video

look over at pile of games. ponder rdr2, hzd, disco elysium, outer worlds, etc etc

clearly this spiral has been upwards

It's all about indie games now, if you ask me. The super accelerated capitalism of the AAA gaming market means the only way to make a good game is to go indie, and Disco Elysium is proof of how much better the indie market is.

i agree, but even within aaa games there have been some bangers recently.

rdr2 is literally all about murdering pinkertons for your community

Is DMC5 a AAA game? It certainly has the graphics, but I have never seen it for 60$. That's my pick if it still counts.

yes absolutely. its price point doesnt define its aaa status, the development cycle does, and dmc games are all aaa games

Yeah there are still some gems out there, but there's been a huge downward trend in a lot of household names. I was a huge Blizzard fan for years, and , uh...

                yeaah diablo3 is not great...

but i wouldnt say thats a "downward trend"

thats certain companies failing. are more shitty games put out than good ones? yeah almost definitely, but thats really not any different from any other point of time for the industry.

look at the worst games from twenty years ago and the worst games now. same thing.

look at the best games from twenty years ago and the best games now. it has markedly improved.
