Y'all liked me enough to have 4 different people meet with me, what was the fucking problem? What did I do that made me not ONE OF THE TEN PEOPLE they hired for the role?
A comrade on here was kind enough to lend me their gig work account (once again Hexbear saves my ass IRL <3 ), so I'm chugging away on that to make rent this month, and my power bill is way overdue but I'm sure I can do something for that down the line. I've got another interview with some other company next week, but goddamn. I thought I had this one in the bag. I was hoping to get this weight off my shoulders, but the more time goes on, it just gets....heavier and heavier.
Death to Amerikkka, death to techbros, death to the data-driven economy.
my best friend finished his fucking doctoral degree in materials physics in April and hasn't been able to get fucking anything. it's actually absurd. he has the technical skill to do novel research with all the equipment we use for developing goddamn computer chips and electronics. even applying all around the country. you are very not alone
any day now the CHIPS act money will trickle down to actual scientists/engineers
I know shit sucks out there. Good luck to your friend! The whole world is fucked, and I spend most of my time here just to feel a secure sense of comradery and less loneliness
How does a company justify 4 interviews? What the first 3 times you didn't get enough of an idea?
Oh the interviewing process is such bullshit. I hope your next interview goes well, I know it can be really stressful on a person. As someone that struggles with really bad rejection sensitivity dysphoria, it's really hard to go through so many interviews to be rejected. You'll find one eventually though.
Thanks comrade, appreciate it! Things are going well with the gig work so far, so not too long before rent is taken care of. At least there's that!
I havent had secure employment since 2020, and even then it was only for six months! Its so crushing I've taken a break aka given up for the moment
well done on even getting interviews, demand feedback, thats gotta be a week of your life down the drain
