Here is the best review of Blood Meridian by an absolute midwit who read it because he loved playing Red Dead Redemption 2 lmfao this review will never be topped https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-trwdwJX3wE

I'm not just a mindless fantasy reader, my favorite fantasy series of all time is Malazan

But the other characters like - what's going on? Why aren't you talking? Why aren't you explaining your thoughts a little more? It's like making the reader make all these logic jumps that don't need to be there.

I actually would love if somebody wrote a parody of Blood Meridian where all the characters spoke & interacted & voiced their thoughts like regular fantasy novel characters and there was a normal amount of scene description. It would be fucking hilarious.

Agree 100%. I loved RDR2 completely. I read (well, listened to the audiobook} of blood meridian right during the first winter of covid when I was sleeping rough in hammocks by the lake, it seemed so unnecessarily violent. There are scenes I'll never forget, sitting by a campfire hearing about making bullets from urine..

Jury's still out on that one

The Judge says hang your jury (also that he will never die).
