I don't think every ELO~N cultist is a bot, far from it. Way before this shit was going on, the sales pitch of "humans must become an interplanetary species" was almost 14 words levels of repetitive and consistent among the true believers as a sort of passphrase.

    I get how big the PR campaign was like over 10 years ago to promote this huckster as "le ebic real life Tony Starks." But that was a long time ago. Who's still buying into this?

      I think there's significant overlap with the similar brainworms that go into Star Citizen true believers: in both cases, they want a rapture-like escape away from their current lives, and they're paid enough by their corporate masters to think they're too smart to be wrong (and not to think too much about uncomfortable things, like maybe their corporate masters might be wrong).

          Both grifters, Chris Roberts and ELO~N alike, peddle to human vulnerability and dreams and yearning. It hurts because I did have a childhood wonder about the cosmos and a fantasy of somehow getting out there to explore it.
