My point was that American Imperialism has been such a shaping force in the west for the last 100 years that its influence is almost inevitable. We're all here because of American Imperialism, for better or for worse (mostly for worse, the people benefitting from it are a minority)
My family are where they are because of trans-atlantic chattel slavery. Most families where I’m from are.
