Earlier this summer I was riding along a new bike lane under construction when I came across this poster: “Help save our neighbourhood. Big new bike path endangers schoolchildren, removes parking, and was imposed without neighbourhood consultation.” It advertised a meeting to take action and organize resistance at a local church, so I went to see what they had to say.

I tried to guess the city before clicking the video. I was expecting it to be in one of the GTA shitholes like Oakville. But suburban Montreal is no surprise either.
My money was on Calgary or Edmonton or something, but gosh dang I guess the frothing-at-the-mouth NIMBYs know no borders.
I hate those people so, so deeply.
It's fascinating to see suburban people be completely dormant doormats about every political issue... and then to see them ACTIVATED and engaging in effective grassroots political activity whenever theres a "threat" of transit development.
