In a game I was recently playing, the chat lobby had someone that claimed to be a "BT," or "Behavioral Tech." He said that he loved his job because he saw working with autistic kids like "programming robots" then clarified "prompting AI."
I was disgusted enough that I said it'd be great if someone took a screenshot and sent it to their boss. The "BT" then said "lol my boss could (sic) care less, he hates the (I don't want to repeat the slur here so I won't) anyway."
I don't know what else to say but I feel horrible for the kids that are being seen as treat printers or robots to be programmed.
I wonder if it's a chicken egg scenario: does someone burnt out get hired for this job because they take anyone or does one get burnt out by the job while doing it to end up with that kind of mindset?
He claimed he loved his job because he enjoyed dehumanizing kids that he worked with.
