In a game I was recently playing, the chat lobby had someone that claimed to be a "BT," or "Behavioral Tech." He said that he loved his job because he saw working with autistic kids like "programming robots" then clarified "prompting AI."

guts-rage

I was disgusted enough that I said it'd be great if someone took a screenshot and sent it to their boss. The "BT" then said "lol my boss could (sic) care less, he hates the (I don't want to repeat the slur here so I won't) anyway." bootlicker scared-fash

I don't know what else to say but I feel horrible for the kids that are being seen as treat printers or robots to be programmed. desolate

This is why I still support gulags. Fucking scum like this need to be sent to forced labor so society can at least gain something from keeping them around. I don't care if they're lying, they're telegraphing their inhumanity. A person who's willing to voice a belief like this is absolutely the person who would be "just doing my job" herding people into a gas chamber.

It also tracks because my-hero also said that raising his own children (which is also to some extent a lie because he isn't present except to bully and abuse them) was like programming LLMs. The dehumanization of their perspective says it all.

This is pretty typical of most people working in “special ed” environments. I remember living in Upstate New York and some of the guys working at BOCES would joke about how stupid and weird the students were.

One would always say, “you look special Ed. You could be in one of my classes” to people that annoyed him

I'm gonna call that dipshits bluff

Send it to the boss and post it everywhere you can

Even if the boss is actually a shit, you can nail two birds with a single screenshot

I'm not exactly a doxxing detective, but I may at least try, especially if he was dim enough for his player handle to be tied to other public information elsewhere.

My partner once figured out the name and social media profiles of some kid who was harassing her in GTA Online and reduced him to a sobbing wreck in the span of about 20 minutes

If you could find a way to share it with them, the kids' parents surely won't be thrilled to see him speak of their children in such a manner.

Generally techs at any kind of mental health facility are the lowest tier of worker. They hire just about anyone with a clean background to fill these jobs I've known from experience being in various psych hospitals and rehabs. It's very rare you find one that actually advocates for their patients so I'm not surprised. What's surprising is that the boss is even worse. Call me a lib, but I would have expected them to have a bit more empathy given their rank.

It's possible the tech was lying, but the utter lack of concern or fear of possibly losing their job if someone did a little detective work made me believe otherwise. desolate

I wonder if it's a chicken egg scenario: does someone burnt out get hired for this job because they take anyone or does one get burnt out by the job while doing it to end up with that kind of mindset?
