I have no idea of the proportions, but as a gamer, I feel uniquely qualified to share my anecdotal experience: most gamers are hateful chuds who have no other prospects in life and have no shot at reproduction. It's the one hobby where victory and dopamine are relatively freely available, and it becomes some people's entire purpose.
The "they targeted g!mers. G!mers" copypasta was those chuds telling on themselves, trying to congratulate themselves on their dedication to repetitive and meaningless busywork tasks.
