And we shouldn't allow this concept to go unchallenged here on Lemmy.

Commenting on an active post is not brigading

Commenting on something you were linked to is not brigading

The only thing that might be brigading, but isn't because it isn't a real thing, is someone explicitly going, "Hey everyone, go here and harass this person"

It's all fine and good that we have some new rules to keep the peace with other instances but we must fight against reddit-logo brainworms

It's partially that, but it is also partially that the reason that we aren't listening to your advice is that we have done this whole song and dance before, some of us for years, nearly decades. There is a reason we adopted the chapo posting method, and it's not because it's 'a vibe'. It is a strategy. A strategy for what? Staying sane while posting in generalized liberal instances.

We will attract like-minded posters incidentally, we don't need to target them, there is no reason to ever assume 'good-faith' in anonymous online discourse, it is a privilege to be provided sparingly.

I'm not going to go all 'back in my days in the posting-mines', but we have done this whole thing before and we will likely have to do it again.
