Yeah that part is also rough. GGG has listened a little so there are far fewer individual currency drops now, most low tier currencies drop less often but in stacks of several units. They're also bringing back Sanctum as a standalone mechanic which drops nothing for most of the run then drops all the loot you've earned throughout the run consolidated into fewer stacks at the end. Sanctums are tradeable so you could do only that.
There's also ruthless mode which drops nothing at all most of the time.
To avoid RSI I tend to play CoC. Also these days all the newheads play RF because the best build guides are for RF.
