For sure. r/collapse is the perfect example of how leftism was asserting itself somewhat on reddit and what the outcome of that was to be. Although that sub always had an odious element of ecofash and reactionary garbage masquerading as progressivism (we are talking about here of course), previously that shit would get challenged and corrected. The malthusian dreck used to get actual pushback. But after the long purge, it just became the default and even what defined the sub. Reddit was always reddit, but for a time it actually had some redeeming qualities. Not anymore, not for a while.
