Embattled NYPD Commissioner Tom Donlon is expected to vacate his post as early as Friday after his background check hit a snag — and the city’s current Sanitation Department boss, Jessica Tisch, is seen as the top contender to replace him, the Daily News has learned.

In case you’re wondering, that’s Tisch as in the same Tisch family that owns the Loews Corporation, the New York Giants, whose name adorns the Tisch school of the arts and the Tisch hospital at NYU, and whom the library at Tufts is named after. Which gives you a good idea as to why she’s a commissioner in Adams administration.

I think the feds had no choice. Every few days now there's news of yet another resignation, phone seizure, or FBI house raid. The scope is crazy. For all intents and purposes - Adam's administration seems like a 21st century version of Tammany Hall.

          He's also a cryptobro.

Haha - that had totally slipped my mind. I guess it's only a matter of time before Neo Tammany Hall reaches all the way to Silicon Valley.

I live 1,000s of miles away from NYC but I'm mesmerized by this ever-expanding, ever-developing story. Everybody connected to Adams has their electronics (phone, etc) seized and/or has their house raided by the Feds too.

Here's a great thread by a journalist who gets replies from other journos.

New interim NYPD commissioner Tom Donlon—whose home was searched by the FBI one week into his job—is now expected to resign as soon as tomorrow. The previous NYPD commissioner, Edward Caban, resigned just under a month ago.

    A reply involving "pre-cogs"

Just a small tidbit -- back in 2016, Tisch was on NY1 and referred to the ppl who worked on the algorithm in the NYPD's predictive policing model as "pre-cogs." I tried to get it into a story about her appearance, but my editor hadn't seen Minority Report and didn't understand what I was on about.

    [...]

Here's the interview. The predictive policing stuff is mentioned at about the 26 minute mark.

"We have what I like to call two of our pre-cogs at the NYPD.... We're doing data science to get ahead of crime."
