Due to recent events and the discussion in the Amendments to the Code of Conduct post we are suspending provisional amendments to the Code of Conduct in specific regard to federation. As we continue to find our footing we may discuss this again.
The rule change in !the_dunk_tank@hexbear.net prohibiting named posts of Admins and Moderators as well as direct links posts will remain for now.
Despite the suspension of the amendments, I encourage everyone to treat other others with good-faith unless they show otherwise, show considerable restraint in instance's meta posts, and abide by meta community post's requests to center discussion on local users.
Reminder that you must follow Hexbear and federated instances codes of conduct and posted sidebar rules for communities.
You may use this post to discuss further if you wish to
Thats all it takes. We should take notes
All it took was me posting about rowing like a couple dozen times and I got some of y'all out there doin it, it makes a poster feel powerful i tell you what. Almost as powerful as I feel from all the rowing I've been doing
I've been rowing once a week thanks to you comrade.
Hell yeah!! But you and I both know we gotta up those numbers!!!
no more half measures walter
Fucking never misses goddamn
I do need to figure out how to get a cheap rowing machine, the official machine of hexbear.
If you want a really really nice one i've heard of people getting that concept 2 one for 500ish used, but i don't know if it's worth it (that's 2x what mine cost lol). It's like 1k or more new, idk what justifies that at all lol
That's more or less what I use and I really like it.
Just please be careful not to mess up your knees with it if your form isn't good you can and it's not fun
o7
I will research good form and ease in to the practice.
Do you have any brief advice on how to avoid one such injury?
I think what I was doing wrong was not keeping my feet aligned with my knees. The rowing action can put weird pressure on your knees and in my experience this led to certain movements like climbing down stairs being very painful. I handled it in the worst imaginable way really never saw a doctor but realized the rowing was probably the issue and after I changed to exercising on an elliptical it eventually got better. Talked with an actual sports instructor about it years later and she thought this was probably what I was doing.
(from the audience in unison) How Much Rowing? ?
I have rowed a cumulative 442 miles over 4303 minutes of rowing according to the definitely accurate thing in my shitty rower! Mamma mia!
madonn!
That's a lotta rowin!
I just rowed tonight!
Hell yeah welcome to the swoletariat
