You'd be amazed at how close it can get, have known a few people that were within a mile that had their homes spared. Hope it works out.

    fuck, stay safe comrade

go early. too many people die here in australia because they misjudge the speed of the firefront or think they can defend. i'm not trying to scare you, but leave earlier than you think you need.

let us know if there's anything anyone here can do

I'm so sorry, there are wildfires everywhere in my state right now. I hope you're gone and safe but if you happen to have a sprinkler system, I've heard turning it on before you leave may help with fire abatement. Who knows it thats true or not, but may as well try it.

I’m so sorry. I was just talking to my wife about this, and what our options were for preparedness. Climate change is basically a lottery now, where if your number is chosen you lose everything, and the longer time passes the worse the odds get.

At the risk of being a dick, do you have all the animals kenneled up already? They can get really squirrely when they realize somethings wrong and it can take time to find them again.

Regardless, I hope this misses you.

Stay safe comrade. My province is on fire as well and I have family on evacuation alert. It’s terrifying to be faced with this level of devastation.

One depressing thing about you mentioning your province being on fire is that it doesn't give anything away on your location.

I remember when I evacuated from my suburban home near LA in 2018 we could see the glow of the fire on the other side of the hill just up the street from our house

    Stay safe comrade
