What if EarthBound but with nothing taken from it but the bluest of curtains about it being about children, and then have those children continually repeat reactionary bullshit about how caring is stupid and bad? centrist

NGL I still like the pro-smoker episode. Not because it's good but because I'm just damn certain that the anti smoking thing has always been about having yet another group of people to treat like shit instead of, you know, maybe dismantling the giant death corp? Also I love tobacco and you'll pry it from my cold dead hands but that's more about the world sucks and I need a legal indulgence than anything else.

South Park is the perfect example of heartbreaking

i.e. the episode about how horrible the Japanese are for killing dolphins and whales etc that ends with a resolution of them being tricked into killing cows and chickens instead, which is then commended as being "normal behavior like the rest of us", which is an excellent portrayal of hypocrisy if you don't realize they're trying to say that being outraged about killing animals at all is what's actually worth mocking

      The part in the inage

Edit: it's the part that the line to draw between earthbound and south park is so tenuous when it's literally just a few kids adventuring, and the fact that the wiki article editor thought it was so noteworthy as to put it as an in text image is like 'well, I can only make asian thing understandable or relevant by reference of a western thing'
