Hey everyone, in this video I aim to create a world championship team for friend and fellow youtuber @FreezaiPokemon . I'll be doing it completely legit, with no hacks, glitches, or cheats in any way shape or form.
I'll also be using tons of Pokemon games, be it Scarlet and Violet, Shield, Black 2, or Soul Silver. Join me on this Journey Across the Generations to get a world championship team!
It all just kinda feels like a serious pivot from what I understood Pokemon to be. As I get older, I see more of how things were. There were always conservationist/green messages, with the implication that Pokemon were unique and had feelings. But the tagline is "Gotta catch 'em all!" . Trading always kinda felt callous along with other things trainers did in canon, but it was never really discussed. At the same time, the media would routinely throw out most of the old to introduce the new. Mechanics and well-loved, but unpopular Pokemon. I know that's the whole commodification thing, but it still feels sad that certain Pokemon just don't show up anymore.
It was pretty sad to discover that Pokemon from previous generations would not be allowed in competitive official battles and stuff and that killed my interest in the series just before Sword and Shield came out.
It's probably just my personal experience bleeding in, but I don't want Pokemon I could tie memories to from 2003 to just be phased out.
I think the meta is cool and everything, but the profit motive really hurts the ability to enjoy if you get sentimental like this.
