i didn't much care when other communities fell apart; but i think that the startrek instance is a sign that the entire lemmyverse is eventually going to go this way since they're such an overwhelming majority and i hope that it's at least decades away.

i pray that the admins have a plan if the mali government decides assert their domain rights since that's the most direct path for taking .ml offline and they're clearly going to rely on defederation to choke off hexbear and lemmygrad, but not .ml (yet)

i've had to move to platforms enough times to learn that you take action at the first sign and i've done so; but my heart is making me stay and invest in .ml as much as i can, so thanks for sharing.

I'm a little out of the loop, what's going on with the Star Trek instance?

Hopefully Hexbear, Lemmy, and Lemmygrad can survive in some form.

Damn, it's a shame that led to defederation though. I had thought that they were cool with us and were mostly Leftist because of the political stuff on Star Trek.

To be fair, that started in TNG series already with Klingons, and DS9 was also full of it, the honorable fucking nazis, but no one in entire seen by me materials ever ask what happened with dozens of species conquered by them, we just don't see or hear about them, ever, not even as slaves.

they've defederated with hexbear and i think it's significant because i think that it was independent of the reddit userbase diaspora instances initially and it had a significant userbase of its own, or atleast bigger that most.

all of the other smaller instances either went inactive or merged into one of the huge instances that were filled up by the reddit refugees and i think that the startrek instance will do something similar since their activity has started to flat line slightly. those huge instances are hellbent on drowning out leftist views and my experience teaches me that they're not going to idly sit by and leave us alone next to their golden echo chambers.

I've a feeling these irritating libs will eventually fizzle out once the current (American) election season is over it's almost like most people don't actually give a shit about politics (until other people start taking about it) for some reason

i laughed when i heard about maga trekkies and it never occurred to me that liberal trekkies would be just as bad; roddenberry must be rolling in his grave.
