NSFW probably
content warning for the article and anything related sexual violence, sex abuse (sorry this wasn't here initially)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aileen_Wuornos
the movie portrayal still haunts me 20 years later and everyone i watched it with hated it and turned out to be assholes later; that makes me wonder if the movie could serve as litmus test for people's empathy.
Unsurprisingly a little less than half were law enforcement related. The rest fit the bill for people we would guess are chuds. Just from the observed data I am 100% on her side.
"However, the judge refused to allow the records to be admitted in court as evidence, and denied Wuornos' request for a retrial." Well now.
You should either take this down or give it every content warning. Holy shit that woman lived a horrifying life. I'd heard of the movie but never seen it, I had no idea.
Seriously, every CW: SV, CSA, SV against a sex worker, murder, just... shit.
You're right, I apologise, report stuff like this in future
I wasn't really thinking about it, it's a picture of a shirt I saw online and a shit joke about the american circus
I added them to the body before the wikipedia article (which is far more unnecessarily brutal than I remember it being)
I can take it down and repost with a censored write up explaining who Aileen was, but are you suggesting I need to content warning a photo of her?
