This is a win for brain worms in every still body of water in the US.

    1. Parasite finds host, alters host behaviour

    2. Host seeks positions of power and influence urging other potential hosts to embrace risky behaviours to the benefit of brain worms

    3. Host successfully gains power <-You are here

    4. Host mandates stale pond water for all citizens

    Flawless brain worm victory.

Ok I get that denial of science is a staple of RETVRN chud’s fear of anything invented past the year 1500 but I don’t understand how or why anyone can be against something as good at what they do as vaccines, like LOOK AT THIS SHIT

    Show

Vaccines are genuinely so fucking awesome, they represent both humanity’s incredible problem solving abilities and our innate desire to help other people, but they can’t be used to their fullest potential because dumbfucks who think freedom means they should be able to shit in the McDonalds ice cream machine without consequences are ruining it for everyone

That doesn’t really apply to people who are opposed to vaccination as a concept. I do feel like capitalism and the alienating material conditions it leaves people in are what foster antivax sentiment though. People who see that their lives keep getting worse but don’t have the framework to explain why will exclusively blame the government because of free market brainworms and distrust anything the government does, even objectively helpful stuff like vaccination campaigns
