So, what's going on in y'all's cities? I live in NOLA and recently found an insanely cool DIY site with tons of great local concerts listed. You end up with a good act, usually at a cool venue, and you're only paying $20 max for tickets. Beyond that, though, it's mostly just the usual "oh fuck the city government is so shit that contractors won't even work with them anymore because they don't get paid" kind of stuff that happens all the time around here. Mardi Gras is getting close, though, so that'll be fun.
Not asking anybody to self-dox, by the way. You don't have to name the city.
My city seems like it's winding down for Thanksgiving a little early. Feels bad, cause I was either too burnt out or too busy with stuff for the past few weeks. Aggressive driving has spiked back up after what seemed like a genuine lull in such behavior, so there's that I guess. :/
I recently discovered a livestream for watching the weather from an apartment overlooking the neighboring capitol city. Every day that we get interesting weather the same core group of friendly chill people gather in chat to just be nice to each other and enjoy watching lightening and storm clouds etc. We exchange news as different storm cells move over our respective areas etc.
It's like watching twitch except no parasocial bullshit. Vaguely boomer coded but not in a gross way. It's the comfiest thing I've experienced in a long time.
That sounds super chill. We get plenty of thunder around here, too. There's really nothing better to take a nap to.
Damn, can't believe it's illegal to have some fun and do a little mischief
