Hey y'all. I'm in a precarious situation right now. Yes, I am falling in love with someone and I want to approach this in a faithful way. My previous relationships included me putting the other person above everything basically, but I want to put God in the first place this time. It's probably healthier this way. Any Christian books about phenomenology of love or falling in love that you know of?
That's so sweet. I just recently met someone too so I'm also in that early honeymoon phase, it's a beautiful feeling of the fullness of possibility.
I'm not sure if it's more theory-heavy than what you're looking for but I'd recommend Works of Love by Søren Kierkegaard and Wisdom in Love by Rick Anthony Furtak. Apologies I couldn't find a PDF of the latter, both are great reads in their own right though.
Good luck and God bless both of you.
Here's the .pdf link for the other book.
P. S. Anna's Archive is a great meta-resource for other shadow libraries.
Thank you so much! I am indeed looking for something theory-heavy indeed and have always wanted to get into Kierkegaard. So, thanks for being the tipping point for that. I'll check the other book out too. Hopefully I can find reflowable formats for my e-reader. If I do, and anyone wants them, just DM me.
My heart is dancing and my mind is on fire! I want this to be good and blessed. Thank you for the kind wishes, and may God bless you two as well <3
Oh, that's very serendipitous then. I don't know what you meant by reflowable but here is an epub version if that's better for you.
That's beautiful! Thank you too!
c.s. lewis' the four loves is probably a good place to start for what you're looking for
Commenting because I want to know also and I want to get back here easily, hope someone responds comrade I wonder of this myself too.
Just wanted to bump you since there's already some cool recommendations.
