I think their second era is better than their first. I recognize that Earth 2 was a groundbreaking record, but all else held equal, I'd rather listen to anything they released after 2000

I agree with your hot take; The Bees Made Honey in the Lions Skull is a fucking masterpiece and super well mastered. It's one of my fav albums to test out a new pair of headphones on.
