Yeah I've been watching some Paul Harrell videos. Pretty sure he's a troop or cop or something, but they're good videos and he has some of the most rigorous experiments and speaks very intentionally and carefully about everything.

He talks a lot about weird shit people believe, and man, it goes deep and it's fucking wild. Crazy shit about the relative power of cartridges, bizarre ideas of bullet penetration, 1911's being fucking fully automatic when you hold the trigger hard, shit like that.

Probably the most common misconception he blew away was the idea that birdshot bounces off of fucking denim even at short range. At short range, all shotgun loads are basically slugs, and will absolutely blast a crater in any part of the body, pulverizing bone and tissue.

You can tell everyone believes in that shit, because buckshot prices skyrocketed and bird shot didn't move much. I have some BBB goose shot because that's pretty big, but won't sail through an attacker and kill my neighbors.

Paul Harrell used to be in the military, his career is/was combat type training for people not in the military. It seems he's trained lots of those security bordering on pmc types.

His older videos are hilarious in how anachronistic everything is. He looks like he's some tactical dude from the 70s, he films with what appears to be a vhs camera, and he will be doing videos on some modern gun or optic that came out in the mid 2000s. I love it.

The guy on the right looks too old timey. Like he should be in a picture of a timber mining camp from the 1890s or something.
