They don't even know much about them usually.
I shoot my buddies 101 every other week. It's extremely loud. Like, when we start shooting everyone else at the range snaps their necks over to see what the hell is going on. Zero perceptible recoil tho, it literally feels like shooting a .22. I bet they are amazing in full auto.
However, if you take the muzzle brake off, fixing the noise issue, the recoil becomes a problem. It's still mild, but it feels like it's almost entirely turned into muzzle flip. Making the gun hard to control.
Also, accessories are very expensive. Even basic stuff like, an mlok handguard is a good chunk of $100. The guns don't function properly unless you get the expensive $35-40 mags either. And you have to buy expensive extras to get basic functionality like an optics rail. Plus the guns are really expensive for some reason. Double the cost of an AR of similar quality.
The ergos are also terrible. Like, you can't chamber a round with the safety on, you have to shift your grip to manipulate the fire selector, if you fumble the mag insertion you can cause the gun to jam, you have to reach around the gun to reload, you have to use a riser on your optic or else you have to hold the gun weird to not be blocking the sights with your hand, etc.
They look cool tho.
If you think .308 is too much recoil and it makes it unpleasant to shoot, it's 100% a skill issue. Not to say you suck if you have a problem with it, but literally it is only a problem if you are holding the rifle wrong. Even slightly wrong and it's a problem. So train more, basically. It's easy to get bad habits when you only shoot 5.56.
The extra weight of ammo and the rifle itself is the problem, not the recoil. At any reasonable combat range, .308 has little advantage over 5.56. In combat, you absolutely need at least one person with something in .308, either a dmr or a machine gun (ideally both), but for the majority of your people 5.56 is far superior.
On top of what everyone has said, mass shooters are all incredibly fucking stupid. They never have any real plan, they often attempt things that are extremely obviously not gonna work because they never actually bother to think about what they are trying to do. The only time I've ever seen any of them actually test anything beforehand is that one dude in Norway.
RIP Twitter. It's finally so broken you can't even post stuff anymore.
I had forgotten to take my hormones lmao
Why am I so tired? I was gonna get some shit done before I had to go to work, but I guess that isn't happening now.
There is a reason why it's a common meme for these people to joke about the Discord chat being leaked being an apocalyptic event.
You would be surprised. It's more of a rebuild than a repair, but often AFVs can be put back into service after a lot of work when they look like a lost cause.
It's so weird how much that looks like Wargame to me. The craters and the burned out vehicles. Even the way the vehicles move around in the tree lines.
I think I found a pricing error in my favor?
They were too bizarre to be real.
Remembering the outdoor cat struggle sessions.
It's not nearly that simple. Powder burns faster based on how much pressure it's under. The faster it burns the more pressure it generates, and so the faster it burns.
But the pressure lowers based on how fast the volume within expands, so based on how the wad swishes and how quick the shot gets moving. Which depends on the exact wad design and shell used.
The primer used changes how the powder ignites initially.
The way you work out the pressure generated is using lab equipment that costs thousands of dollars. And there are tons of different powders that behave differently, and the manufacturers don't use any type of power that is available commerically in small quantities.
End result of all this, unless you have that equipment, the only way to get a load is to get the information from someone who does.
Yeah, but I seriously doubt the people there would be able to help much. At least my local chapter is full of clueless idiots.
Kinda confused trying to make shotgun shells. Different brands of primers use different load data, and the historically popular brands have all been on backorder for several years now.
Yet all the powder and wad manufacturers just seem not to care? They won't do the testing and provide data so people can use their products with the primers that are available, so who is buying wads and powder rn? It's almost impossible to find load data that you can actually get the components for right now, and this has been the case for years.
It's almost impossible to generate your own data, with shotguns the first clue you get that the load is too hot is your gun explodes. It's not like rifles and handguns where you will see signs in the spent casings before the pressure gets too high.
I'm literally considering just using black powder because it's impossible to overcharge a shell with black powder. I'd have to make my own powder tho, because you can't just buy it anymore.
Kinda forgot this website existed.
Comrades I need help finding a good text on why the nuclear family is the way it be. I remember reading something really good on here about it. Basically how the family until is atomized the way it is in a way that wasn't historically the case because of capitalism.
