    Nerve damage is permanent. As someone with extensive nerve damage, you can often find other ways to do things, but the nerve damage itself will never, ever heal.

      Same with the autoimmune diseases that can be triggered by infection. As someone with several autoimmune diseases, you can slow its progression, but you'll never, ever be cured.

      People don't know what it's like until they're there. If they knew, they'd be a lot more cautious.
