Rare's N64 games haven't aged well imo. Diddy Kong Racing is a huge exception though and still kicks ass, and Banjo Kazooie ain't awful, just very obviously old.
I think Conker's still good, although I find it less funny now than when I was like 15.
Perfect Dark still rules.
Perfect dark is a solid game until the end of the game that stupid temple level. Wtf even is that
Yes! And also Banjo-Tooie which I personally think is better than the first. DK64 has probably aged the worst of the 3 in all honesty, but is still worth playing through at least once.

I remember a criticism of the game being the backtracking when you find a thing only a certain kong can do. This rom hack solves that and might be the way I play :)
Thanks, maybe this is how I'll play it next time I'm feeling nostalgic! :D
A few years back I actually 101%ed my childhood copy on original hardware, so I got my fill for a good while haha.
When I was a kid I asked my dad for DKC3 and he got it for me (the one time this ever happened so straightforwardly). Along with DKC2, they were some of my favorite games in my modest library :)
I had the Gameboy Advance port of the first one as a kid and played it all the time!
That sexy (legitimate) backstabber! Including him, I don't remember many class traitors in video games, but at least we have the deserter demons in Arcus Odyssey!
There’s a parallel to the Crimean War in DK.

Edit: it’s almost two here, I’m keeping the mistake. There’s a parallel to the Crimean War in all of us.
Hbomberguy's slow-ass playthrough remains a really fond memory of 2019, a bright start to a shite year to be followed by even more shit
