One of my friends is kind of traumatized from it. I’m fine, though I’m going to need a new blanket/sleeping bag because he was really cold and I let him cover up with my $80 sleeping bag, and, you see, one of the symptoms of precipitated opioid withdrawal is, you shit yourself. I’m not upset though. I’m going to make a fundraising post in /c/mutual_aid later to cover the cost of a new blanket or whatever, and if I raise enough money I’m going to kick him some.

Depending on where you live there's a very good chance you can get your own narcan kit, probably for free, if you think there's a reasonable chance you might need one. They are easy to use and are lifesaving medicine. The sprays are super easy and the injectors are about as complicated as an epipen which is to say a child could learn to administer them with a couple of minutes of verbal explanation.

If nothing else, carrying narcan can help as a point of destigmatisation given the opportunity to talk about it.

edit: not that a child should ever need to be educated about administering narcan (ideally) lol. But I was a small child when I was taught to use an epipen.
