Tangential but this reminded me of one of my favourite minor conspiracy theories of all time.
Forgot the guys name but there was this guy who was way into that Majestic-12 UFO stuff, claiming to be a former member of the conspiracy, who also had a radio show where he literally would not stop proclaiming his intent to shoot and kill any cop who tried to apply the law to him.
Then he got into a police shootout because he kept pointing guns at his neighbors and that's apparently illegal despite this being America, and when he inevitably dies during it people try and claim he was murdered as a coverup. If there's a conspiracy guy handbook out there, one of the first entries should be that if you want to avoid being killed in a coverup, you can't issue a blanket threat that you will shoot any cop upon sight then also break the law a bunch.
This is totally tangential, but I'd never heard of Majestic 12 before, and now it makes sense to me why one of the Space Invaders games was called this in Japan.
I thought this said "Buddha" for a second and I was like based, but also what the fuck?
