It was just the choice of animation effects, the way they used those rapidly alternating flashes to animate the blowing up of the missiles... I understand not wanting to show Porygon right after this incident, but come on, Nintendo, it's been over 20 years, give us back our cyber duck...
Granted, it's easier to remember which episode it was based on the monster of the week - "the one where blows up some missiles" is harder to remember lol
That wasn't Porygon's fault. They were just involved in the episode. The event that caused the seizures was Pikachu blowing up some incoming missiles.
THEY BLAME THE WEIRD INTERNET KID WHEN IT WAS THE MARKETABLE ASSHOLE WHO CAUSED ALL THE PROBLEMS!

I never realized before looking at the Pokémon wiki right now that Porygon pretty much never appeared on the show after that.
