One cool thing I learned in the video is that they didn't check for ID when Gamer Jesus rented a PC under a fake name. Just think that's a fun fact for anyone who needs a gaming PC
Aside from the point, but it's funny when he's explaining these correctly insidious and harmful practices and rightfully calling them scams, but almost every practice is just the application of standard rental housing policy.
- No path to ownership despite costing MORE than outright ownership? Check
- Locked into predatory contract clauses designed to extract money from you? Check
- Misleading advertising with zero accountability? Check
- Bait-and-switch practices to encourage rental ownership of an inferior-than-advertised product or service? Check
I watched the first twenty minutes, so I haven’t watched the whole thing, but every single executive at NZXT should be pilloried until they died of starvation.
I used to work at a place that built gaming computers for some scam rental shit like this. Very shady shit, nzxt isn't the only one doing it.
Fuck that shit and fuck that company I worked for. They lost the contract with them a year or two before I quit.
