You could never get me to use a planner as a kid, and even note taking was sparse (but if I did it it was mostly on paper), but now I'm buying notebooks and planners and shit voluntarily, in part because tech has gotten less usable and more distracting/ennervating. The UIs or whatever are mostly fine I guess but the whole package taken as a whole (smartphones especially) doesn't work for me
I've been making a conscious effort to take physical notes since apparently it significantly improves memory retention and also I struggle to write enough in pen and paper exams and I'm trying to build up the skill again.
It does help me pay attention, but the inconvenience of it not being searchable or accessible anywhere isn't ideal.
100% same. I've realized i become numb to digital notifications because the sheer number of notifications is overwhelming and I end up just swiping them all away because the anxiety from them piling up is worse than the anxiety of not completing the tasks.
