      they continued with the meeting after hearing "someone got shot right outside" (probably assuming it was one of the poors) but they did stop it when they heard who that someone was yeah

      UnitedHealth Group started its annual Investor Conference at 8 a.m. Wednesday, which was scheduled to run until 11 a.m. UnitedHealth Group CEO Andrew Witty ended the conference early around 9:09 a.m.

      “We’re dealing with a very serious… situation,” he said. “We’re going to have to bring to a close the event today… I apologize for bringing things to a close but I hope you’ll understand.”

      this is the only reportage I've seen that specifically mentions the cancellation and it does not say either way. have you seen something where they say they didn't know?

      guess this hinges on how likely it is that the CEO could be shot in front of the hotel at 6:40 AM and the participants of an 8:00 AM meeting not learn of it until after 9:00 AM.
