    the courses i found were the most actually conducive to writing meaningful stuff in essays were the ones that had a really low word count limit. like when i had to write a synthesis paper in under 300 words it was a lot better than the ones i had to write at least 1,500

    i hate academic jargon so fucking much lmao

      I teach a scientific writing course, and the first 6 weeks are dedicated to writing shorter and shorter versions of the same paper, starting with 1,000 words and ending at 200. It's amazing how clean you can get an explanation if you really try, and those last drafts are always much better across the board.
