And then it's cut to pieces, as the postal service fears more scams based on sold bicycles. They used to sell their old ones, then they got used in scams, now they don't anymore, because senior citizens still don't understand that you can't trust anyone just because they have a uniform or a bicycle in yellow.
Now, don't get me wrong, scamming senior citizens is an issue that needs tackling, I just don't think it's really the postal services concern or that "trashing perfectly serviceable bicycles" is a reasonable approach to the problem.

But hell, I'd deal with this shit, not like I'm trying to race the giro d'italia with the damn thing, I just wanna occasionally transport some larger shit and have a fallback for the 5 days it's slippery
