My potted indoor bird of paradise had its only remaining stem snapped off in the wind the other day, now it is totally bare above ground except for a few old stems… is there any chance it will recover or should I just throw it out?

I am usually amazed at how often plants I thought were goners come back. The only plants I tend to lose are ones in soil/substrate they don't like and I don't see the root rot until it's too late. I transplanted some outdoor bird of paradise that was overgrown and cut the root into chunks and got a few healthy plants out of it, they're pretty resilient.
