There’s a difference between state media having a bias requiring a critical lens and literally everything they say being the opposite of the truth. You can trust the BBC on a lot of issues, for example.
Not trusting what they say doesn't mean everything is a lie, it means anything could be and anything should be suspect.

you did fail to respond with them getting away with whatever they want. a family member likened it to letting the nazis get away with the holocaust. if that was actually happening, wouldn't you be doing everything you could in your power to stop it?
