I downloaded rednote which is kind of like Chinese instagram because it’s a perfect F-you to meta and everyone else to go straight back to Chinese tech. I’ve also heard the names Neptune, lemon8 and a few others thrown around. Where are you guys headed?
(However I believe we’re truly losing something important that won’t be replaced, TikTok was one of a kind in the fact that everyone was on it despite it not being American)
REDnote is a new name for xiaohongshu (小红书), a Chinese short video style social media app similar to douyin/tiktok or instagram.
It would be amazing if Westerners started using it. There's no Chinese/English ecosystem split like tiktok/douyin has. Chinese and Americans would be together on the same social media platform.
