iPhones can't do APK downloads I think they're locked down to the app store apps unless you jailbreak them
The format for iOS is called IPA. Unless you are in the EU and have iOS 17.4+ (which obviously isn't the case for Americans), you have to either buy a $99/year developer certificate so your apps don't expire for a year, or deal with solutions like AltStore to handle the fact that your sideloaded apps not from the App Store are going to expire after just 7 days (not to mention the fact that there's a limit per Apple ID)
