not sure abt beyond, but impossible sources a lot of their ingredients from industrial fermentations of genetically modified yeast. kinda SOL unless u wanna steal some proprietary strains >:D
I'm glad I saw this post, because I was wanting to replicate the impossible burger. I think your anger is justified because the notion of food being proprietary is fucking ridiculous and absurd!
even tho at the end he admits it's only kinda similar, i still might try this. some substitutes are so fucking expensive, and my SO loves beyond/impossible so this one may be worth trying to figure out at home...
