The one thing I’d change with that scene is to not even give red skull the snarky dialogue. If any dialogue exists have his ass beg for mercy and still get clapped.

This is why the "heroes don't kill" trope is so stupid.
You end up in a universe where a ton of good people get killed but the bad guys get to live to go on and kill more people. Sometimes letting a Nazi live makes you complicit in murder, it's not always heroic to let bad people live.
