TBH this makes more sense than all those random high-end sponsors you see in football. For example my team Liverpool FC's sponsor is a finance company called Standard Chartered. I don't even know what the fuck Standard Chartered do. Some fatcat international banking shit? Our older sponsors were a beer company, two home electronics companies, and at one point a local paint company.
Papa John's Trophy reminds me of the days of the old Coca Cola Cup, Worthington Cup, etc in that it's actually a relevant product to the (traditionally) working class viewership of football.
