Unfortunately I'm not on HRT and won't be for the foreseeable future. But as I'm working on shaping up my butt and legs, i want my waist to get thinner. I'm pretty tall and trim, but I'm worried that without HRT any efforts on my core are just going to square me off and not help me build the hourglass figure I want. Any input is appreciated!!

as for waist slimming exercises, unfortunately you can't spot-burn fat, but the closest thing is to attempt to target your transverse abdominus without getting your obliques or abdominals bulky, which is possible but probably requires care. I touched on it briefly in the post but i'm not versed enough to advise on this. I think planks are good for this? but would love second opinions!

anyway, you seem like you're on the right track already, build up the 🍑 and the waist will come from that! all the love comrade meow-hug

As I've ever known it, spot reduction is a myth. What you can do is put more emphasis on where your musculature is. To my uninitiated and under-educated mind, your best bet would be to just get the legs and butt bigger in proportion to your waist. Your genetics play a role for where fat gets stored on your body. Some people put it right on their waist, some people the legs, and it makes me think of this tiktok that is tangentially related https://www.tiktok.com/@lorenrosko/video/7221984796782939438 where this fitness influencer speaks on her abs & how she stores fat in her arms first. I hope it finds you well. I mean to suggest that there are parts of your body under your exacting control and others that aren't without surgical intervention. If I had someone tell me that, it would have saved me a lot of heartache
