its total and complete dogshit vote no

no no no no no on 3 my friend

basically it changes the primaries so we have two main elections, a general election like normal but instead of primaries we have a big election to choose the top two candidates for each major race

lets say 10 people run for governor lets say the top two candidates are republicans in this new primary after polls close now on the general election for governor you have a choice between republican A or republican B

EVERYONE would vote among ALL candidates in that new primary system the make-up of florida right now means it will likely be between the top two candidates: a dem and a repub VOTING YES EFFECTIVELY SUPPRESSES ALL THIRD PARTY CANDIDATES IN THE STATE OF FLORIDA FOR EVERY MAJOR POSITION

    i hope that is clear

    https://florida.gop/no-on-3/

I don't really know since I'm not from FL, but I would probably vote yes based on the above .

EDIT: Strike this, GOP seems to be right for once.

Wait, here's a different reason to vote no

        https://www.tampabay.com/florida-politics/buzz/2020/08/12/amendment-3-would-suppress-black-representation-in-florida-new-report-says/

        Basically, I don't know.

From that article: "But if Republican and no-party affiliation voters could participate in that primary, the electorate is suddenly much whiter, which could influence the outcome of the primary. A Democrat is still likely to come out ahead in a general election, but there’s a greater chance that the Democratic candidate advancing would be white, Shaw said."

I'm not sure I follow the logic there.

It's a jungle primary system like in CA. The idea is that a republican would never win in democratic districts to people just vote for a more right wing democrat.
