Seems like a lot of us are already thinking Biden's going to win but hold your horses. This is more of a question, but based on my loose understand of the electoral college, aren't there still 3 ways Trump can still be president, even if Biden breaks the 270 mark?

  1. Trump sues the results of all the toss up states, we go to the supreme court and they pull a Bush V Gore ruling where they decide to give the toss ups to Trump instead of Biden. I'm not sure if it'd happen exactly like Bush V Gore, maybe Trump gets the courts to ignore the votes after election day, or it's too close to call and they just rule in favor of Trump. Someone with more understanding can paint this scenario out in better detail than I can.

  2. We're a representative democracy. Electors choose to give their vote to the whoever the voters of that state choose, but they technically don't have to. Just like with Bernie in the 2016 primary, delegates can vote however TF they choose to be. If someone isn't satisfied with the Biden result the people chose, they can choose to ignore that and put Trump in anyway. Representative is a suggestion, not a rule.

  3. Trump outright looses but doesn't leave office. As far as I remember, military officials didn't commit to actually removing Trump if he decides to ignore the result. This would be a soft coup as Dem aren't going to fight over it. He stays, the dems are annoyed but don't take any serious action to remove him and the military just sits there, allowing it to happen.

Again, this is more of a question, so ignore the statement style of this post, but based on my very very loose understanding of our election system, someone who doesn't give af about rules (as we all know Trump doesn't) could get away with these. We all know Democrats aren't shit and if challenged by unprecedented loopholes in our elections, will just do fucking nothing and just complain. Please correct me if I'm wrong. If anyone corrects my points and understands constitutional laws a little more than me, let me know and I'll edit this. If anyone knows any other technical ways Trump can still be our president even with a Biden win, I'll add those too.

Either way, get ready for some major fuckery in the upcoming weeks and months.

and they want to keep the institution they control alive.

Doing it so blatantly would be giving up the game and the illusion of democracy we have, but do they honestly care? They already have power until they pass away and most of them already favor Trump. Considering 3 of the people are Bush V Gore deciders, would doing that in a couple more states be that much of a stretch? I don't know if Trump is the person they'd put their necks out for considering he isn't the most competent of people, but he didn't put those 3 in there for no reason. I think he, or people in his circle rather, knew this situation was on the table and it'd be poetic for them to do their duties to ensure another one of their own hold power like they did before. He helped him get there.
