Who owns the box? A misaligned pseudointelligence which cannot comprehend human values and optimizes only for maximizing the paperclip of shareholder value.

Everybody worrying about AI risk should be worried about capitalism, since it has all the characteristics they purport to be worried about but uh actually exists

Yeah this is literally my argument for every AI obsessed nerd. Ooooohhh you're scared of a rampant malignant force that transcends human understanding and manipulates us for its own inhumane ends at our expense? Sure would be a bummer if that existed. marx-joker

Ah yes, I love the assumed reality of Game Theory. We should all play by the rules of the most sociopathic adversarial model of human behavior possible. Suggesting things like "cooperation" and "not doing that actually" are dismissed out of hand as suboptimal strategy or childish/unrealistic. Thank you RAND corporation, very cool!

I'm not really worried about an AI trained by regular people to do regular stuff, what I am worried about is an AI trained by Silicon Valley weirdos won't stop trying to create super race breeding programs while looking like cave trolls themselves

Exactly. Reality is there's no such thing as an 'unaligned' intelligence, an actual intelligence that takes any action must have 'alignment' to do something.

The AIs that aren't aligned to help bourgeois control (and a lot of 'em will be) will be plenty fine.

In the story, the cookies in the box are thrown outside to be devoured by birds to spare Frog and Toad the temptation. My youngest loves Frog and Toad. Grandma got them stuffed animal Frog and Toad, very cute.
