The Communist Party of the United States of America (CPUSA) was established on this day in 1919. CPUSA provided legal aid to the Scottsboro Boys, helped poor Southern farmers form sharecropper unions, and promoted communist ideas within the U.S.
The party was established after a split in the Socialist Party of America following the Russian Revolution, and initially operated underground due to the Palmer Raids, a series of anti-immigrant, anti-labor, and anti-communist raids conducted by Attorney General A. Mitchell Palmer.
CPUSA was an early opponent of segregation and racial discrimination, giving legal aid to the Scottsboro Boys and helping poor black farmers in the South organize sharecropper unions. Because of this, the party had a strong presence in Alabama in the 1930s. This history is detailed in "Hammer and Hoe: Alabama Communists during the Great Depression" by historian Robin D.G. Kelley.

Watching some isekai slop called something like "making 80000 gold in another world for my retirement" and it's aight so far. Her dumb isekai ability is she can teleport, and swap between worlds as well.
She's like "yeah im gonna sell stuff from earth here to make gold so i don't gotta work in either world" and it's one of those settings where people react to the shit she brings over like they should. Like a swiss army knife just representing an impossible level of craftsmanship for the technology level of the place she's in. Or like she wears a cultured pearl necklace to meet a count and his family and the countess freaks out about it, the size and uniformity of the pearls, how it's not just something that would be considered expensive but just having so many perfect matching pearls would make it a priceless work of art.
I'm just at the part where she sets up her store and gets her first customers and basically everything is like magic to them. She feeds them fish and everybody is like 🤮🤮🤮 until they eat it, and they explain it's because they're like 10 days from the coast, and it'd only barely be possible to bring fish with like, 3 days off straight riding swapping out pre prepared stagecoaches and horses and riding them to exhaustion. And even then, only in the winter with the use of ice and snow to keep it fresh. So where the fuck is she getting this fresh fish?
They think she's a witch, lol
I love me my isekai slop
That sounds like my kind of slop I'll have to give it a try
isekai is mostly bad but theres always that small margin that is extremely good
