    Isn't the governor of PA a democrat though? I'm not from the US so I'm not really aware of how this kind of thing works, but wouldn't he or his party have the say?

      Yeah, he is. Now I'm second guessing myself. Maybe it was a court thing?

      Or I could be misremembering.

      Good question, also consider:

      • elections are usually seen by the secretary of state, who may be from another party

      • Democrats are not good at their jobs, and generally should not be depended on to put up a fight, even when it counts
