the Communist Party of China is Chinese first and communist second. Also, after Mao, the nationalist wing of the CPC gained prominence and dictated much of what modern China is today. Yeah I don't agree with it either, but the official statement was the sentence was based on numbers.
I'd like to know if she is still in jail though, because there was talk of appealing the sentencing times before the news goes completely cold in western media.
