Block all these people and continue to block them when they try to contact you there through new channels. You have nothing to be afraid of. You are just getting scammed so just cut your losses.

I feel stupid for having swallowed all of this... Now in perspective it is more evident, but at the time, I don't know if it was impulsivity or being too naive, I wanted to believe in all this. My life has been hell ever since. Do you think I should present evidence to the police to denounce him? Will I be able to recover part of the money or...?

You can try registering a case with your local police. This will let you have a record of a report you filed with them. I am 99.9% sure they will not be able to get you any of your money back. If you want to talk to the police, look into whether they have a dedicated cybercrime department you can talk to.

I was expecting a gofundme camping to recover your losses.

Also, you don't even know if they are in Gambia. As far as I know, they can be in Germany. Everything is just lies, smoke and mirrors to make you feel like that. Screw them.

Take that as a very expensive class in online safety and social engineering. Keep on studying it, but don't take it personally. That only works with people that have hearts. :)

They look like professionals with a lot of experience. They would certainly have a matching phone number to their story.

Also, police knows they have no authority across borders. If you were in a bad situation, you'd be visited by local authority, which will definitely not happen.

There's nothing they can take from you through friendship and trust, they are now going through with fear. Textbook. Block the numbers and contacts, free your mind.

try not to be so hard on yourself my friend, it's a much more honourable thing to be scammed by than plenty of other people

it's gross but if these things happened over a short period i'd consider contacting your bank and see if you can get some of your money back

take the experience as a lesson

I am afraid that this has been a scam since the beginning. At least you can hope that they made good use of the money.

UPDATE 1: Thank you for all the support you are giving me. I told Abdou to go to the station, and I am accused of helping a trans person and sending her sexual pictures (which is not true, and they had to look at his phone to know that). I am scared because I know that in Gambia many LGBT things are forbidden... and because some accusations seem real. And they are harassing me to pay ASAP. Abdou said that it's true all of this. The Police number that is harassing me is +220 358 5509, can you check if its real or not?

UPDATE 2: I am gathering information to report to the police. Apparently they have tried to scam people in my close circle also asking for money. It is more than clear that this is a scam. I will see if I can get something with the report (although I doubt it). Thanks for the help!

Block the number. They have no authority where you live. True or not why pay the fascists?

      This does not sound real.

It's trivial to spoof phone numbers, and actual police aren't going to call you to shake you down.

You need to block all the parties and numbers involved, and take a step back.
